Modern Slavery
Our commitment
DC Tech Solutions Ltd ensures we trade ethically, source responsibly and work to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking throughout
our organisation and supply chain. We are committed to ensuring our candidates and colleagues, across all operations and jurisdictions, are safe, comfortable and valued. In the recruitment industry modern slavery can appear in many guises such as forced labour, exploitative work conditions, debt bondage or human trafficking.
We have developed process and policy to ensure we:
1 - First look to avoid occurrences through diligent screening of candidates, suppliers, offshore partners and even our own clients;
2 - Regularly audit our supply chain to ensure their continued commitment;
3 - Give a voice to each of our employees to raise concerns; and make available a senior team of leaders to investigate any risks identified and who can take action if necessary.
DC Tech Solutions Ltd takes great pride in the multicultural and diverse nature of our workforce. By bringing together individuals from different backgrounds, cultures and skillsets, we foster a rich and collaborative work environment and are able to provide the best talent to our global clientele. Simultaneously, we recognise the multinational nature of our workforce requires DC Tech Solutions to navigate the global landscape of modern slavery regulations with diligence. Whilst international regulations and guidance aim to promote consistency worldwide in addressing modern slavery, the implementation of these measures remains subject to the individual capacities and priorities of each country. With this in mind we strive not only to meet those standards but exceed them.
Policies
DC Tech Solutions Ltd maintains ethical practices and policies which underpin our commitment to the prevention of modern slavery or human trafficking within our business and supply chain. Our established Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy serves as a central framework for our opposition to modern slavery. We continuously subject this policy to review and update this to keep up with legislative and guidance changes.
Our Code of Conduct sets out the behaviours we expect from all of our colleagues in their dealings with each other, candidates, customers, suppliers and agents. By adhering to this code, DC Tech Solutions is able to foster a culture of respect, fairness and integrity. These policies are in turn supported by our Whistleblowing Policy and Procedure to allow employees to raise concerns. While it is of course important to have a formal process we also encourage colleagues to contact members of our Senior Management Team or their colleagues in HR and Legal to discuss any concerns they might have.
For those who do not feel able to speak openly details of the Modern Slavery Helpline are readily available. Our temporary workers Before any worker is onboarded or placed, our teams adhere to a zero-tolerance stance through the verification of a worker’s identity and right to work. Each check is performed in accordance with the local requirements of the jurisdiction they live and are placed in. Our central compliance function ensures these checks are consistently followed and potential issues escalated before onboarding.
Where a temporary worker is DC Tech Solutions Ltd through an “employer of record” (also commonly referred to an “umbrella company” or “professional employment organisation”) we require that third party to perform checks that at least meet the same standards we apply internally. Each is meticulously vetted by us before they are used and are required to commit to the same standards we hold.
Training
We provide regular, mandatory training to all our staff including our colleagues in the shared service centres. All must complete training courses in Modern Slavery and Equality and Diversity in the Workplace which require an assessment with individual pass grades in order to complete the training.
It is essential to us that our employees carry out these courses with due attention whatever their role. We require all of our suppliers to provide training to their own staff or, where such training is not readily available, complete our own training program.
Further steps
Modern slavery has no place in any part of DC Tech Solutions Ltd. The Board fully supports eradicating slavery in any form from all areas within our supply chains and recognise that further steps should always be considered. We will continue to review of our supply chain onboarding and audit processes globally to ensure our suppliers continue to meet the standards that we expect.
